Focusing on Focus

Everyone knows that focusing on something can be a task all on it’s own. If you are like me you notice when a “squirrel” runs by as you are doing something and it takes a minute, or two, or more to get back on track.
Sometimes teams shift there focus to the “problem” and forget the past victories and give in to fear and insecurity. A leader must ensure they can refocus, remind and reassure their followers.
So, as leaders, we must always be sure to focus. Somethings we can consider on a daily basis that could help are:
1. What things do I need to do today that no one but I can do effectively?
2. What things on my list could be better done by someone else?
3. What challenges have I been putting off because I don’t want to deal with them?
4 What steps, however small, could I take today that will lead my team/company into the future?
5. What should I do today that will make me glad when today becomes yesterday?
6. How can I encourage the people around me today in what they have to do?
You can’t focus on people well unless you are focusing on yourself and your tasks first.
