Take care of…

In my 18+ years of managing people I was fortunate enough to learn this phrase early on. If you take care of people they, in turn, will take care of you. This is one of the differences between a leader and a manager. A manager will “push” people to get the task accomplished. They tend to focus on the task and, at times, lash out to get things back on track. A leader “pulls” their people along as if to say “come with me and let’s do this together.” Leaders tend to focus more on caring for the people because they know, if the people are taken care of the work will be taken care of as well.
Those that work for you will take great care of you if you take care of them first.
Leaders, take good care of your people. If you don’t they will find someone who will.
Go out and encourage someone today!
